Smart Steps for Stepfamilies is a research based,
interactive program that helps families develop skills in communication,
conflict resolution, stress management, processing feelings and other
helpful topics.
Why a Program for Stepfamilies?
- Stepfamilies have to juggle visitation
schedules, holidays, birthdays, and other occasions.
- Stepfamilies have family members who live with
two sets of house rules.
- Stepfamilies hear, "You can't tell me what to do
- you're not my mom/ dad."
The Smart Steps Program is designed for the whole
family to enjoy. Several families work together learning tips from each
other while keeping sessions light hearted and informative. Children
have sessions with and without the parents while everyone learns healthy
behaviors to build a strong and loving family life.
Sessions include:
- Changes to anticipate in your family
- How to manage conflicts
- Building strong connections
- ...and lots more!
